Ernie brings over 22 years of insurance industry experience with a proven track record of managing and leading clients and teams. Named as the Catastrophe Specialist, Inc. (CSI) President in 2018, Ernie brings a diverse background and thoughtful leadership which brings a higher level of understanding of insurance agency operations. Ernie has come up from the ranks from various insurance industries allowing him to refine the process to drive CSI’s growth.
Since joining CSI in 2014, Ernie has played a central role in growing CSI and continues to align customers and adjusters and strengthen partnerships with key insurance providers. Serving as a key executive team member, Ernie oversees the general operations of the company.
Ernie began his career after graduating from the University of South Carolina in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice. Upon graduation, he immediately began working in the insurance industry gaining experiences in the risk management and underwriting audit field. From there, Ernie worked with a Fortune 500 company in the Claims division for 12 years working in various roles including adjuster, senior adjuster, claims examiner, supervisor, and claims branch manager. He moved away from the insurance company side of the business to spend time as a general manager for a daily/catastrophe adjusting company, and then transitioned into a property and casualty agency manager for a separate independent insurance agency. He previously served as a member and treasurer of the Claims Management Association of South Carolina, an organization comprised of insurance claims management professionals endeavoring to better themselves in the industry and to contribute to the betterment of the claims management profession of South Carolina. Ernie also acted as a member and medical disciplinary commission to the State Board of Medical Examiners for the Office of the Governor in the State of Carolina. Appointed by Governor Nikki Haley, Ernie there reviewed licensing violations and state-required medical procedure processes by licensed medical doctors.
